Smoking
is hazardous to the health of smokers and non-smokers. One in three
smokers will die prematurely from a smoking related illness. Three
out of four smokers would like to give up smoking. Of those who do,
the majority of them manage to do so without any help from others.
But if you feel you need advice or assistance to counter your own
addiction to smoking or smoking in public places there are many organisations
who can help or offer advice. Many organisations also publish information
on the subject of smoking, nicotine addiction and the effects of passive
smoking. Check out ASH (UK) and ASH (US) for starters and see the
list of campaigning organisations on the Links Page.
